As I sit here on the familiar family couch, wearing my Coca Cola T-shirt and listening to my little brother rummage through the cabinet for a snack, the thought has finally hit me. This is it.
My final full day in Ohio has arrived and it's the end of an era. The end of calling Ohio the state where I live...it will become that state that I visit. The feeling is appropriately bittersweet.
I will not miss the smell of the paper mill or the fact that I have to drive an hour to the closest Barnes and Noble. I will not miss the insanely unpredictable weather where you can literally get out of school for a snow day and then flooding all in the span of two days.
But this is what I will miss: the rolling hills of Chillicothe and the quiet countryside, seeing the leaves change, the local restaurants like Casa Del Taco, Sumburger, Carl's Townhouse, and the Old Canal Smokehouse, my many favorite and frequented locations with more fun memories than I could ever hope to list...here's a few: The Majestic, The Park, B' Dubs, Los Mariachis, Carver Community Center, St. Mary's Parish, Granny's, and Schlegel's... But more than anything else I'll miss my family and friends.
The relationships I have with my family and friends (you know who you are) mean the world to me. While I may not see them every week, or every month, or even every year anymore they will remain with me through every experience and obstacle. Their words of encouragement and support are what push me to follow my dreams to the edge of the west coast.
So, it's time to follow the dream and make it reality. I hope this blog will serve as a means for everyone to come along with me on my journey. And so we go. =)
xoxo,
Brandy Z.
