Day 4: Exploring Austin Part II
Waking up to the smell of breakfast being made is a great incentive to get out of bed. My grandma prepared eggs, papas as she says (potatoes), bacon, and sausage. Delicioso!
Pottsey and I watched my grandparent's 50th wedding anniversary video from three years ago. It was a beautiful ceremony. There was lots of dancing and celebrating the life and love of two amazing people: Tiburcio and Tanis Zapata (A.K.A. my grandparents).
There are no Kroger or Aldi or KMarts in Texas that I have seen...instead they have H.E.B here. So, Pottsey and I went there for the first time today to get some snacks for the road. On the way, we had an interesting encounter. A guy pulled up beside us at the stoplight, rolled down his window, and said, "Nice pull man. Is that your sister? I'd ask for her number if that's your sister...Well, she's beautiful. Nice job man." People are pretty funny sometimes.
This evening we went to a Mexican restaurant called Garcia's and had dinner with my Aunt Julie and Uncle Angel. We ate way too much and felt pretty sleepy afterwards. So, we are heading to bed a little early today to prepare for tomorrow's long drive to New Mexico.
Buenas Noches!
xoxo,
